Manufacturing Process Engineer
Location: Charleston, South Carolina, US
Reporting to: Head of Manufacturing Engineering – US Operations

Job Overview
This role is embedded in the Manufacturing Engineering group within our Global Operations Engineering team at our new state-of-the-art device manufacturing facility in North Charleston, South Carolina. Together with the rest of your team, you will support the automated production of sub-components, packaging materials, and assemblies for our autoinjector systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Improve system & equipment reliability for the core processes to meet all customer, business & regulatory requirements
- Lead & support troubleshooting and issue resolution of critical production equipment to minimize unplanned downtime
- Lead the development of improvement plans and requirements for capacity expansion and future production systems and processes
- Lead and support commissioning and acceptance testing of new production equipment
- Manage technology transfer (receiver function) of new products and processes into mass production
- Support validation activities for new equipment and processes as necessary
- Lead and support the identification of novel production equipment for next gen manufacturing systems
- Promote use of new technologies and industry-leading trends. Provide highest level of technical expertise
- Collaborate closely with production teams, machine builders, process/product development groups, and the quality department on performance/process improvements, troubleshooting, and critical event response
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualification
- Several years of relevant hands-on experience working with automated manufacturing equipment/processes
- Experience & familiarity with CAD software; experience designing custom parts for production equipment a plus
- Knowledge of common problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies
- Passionate & committed self-starter with the ability to work independently and a strong attention to detail
- Excellent intercultural and interdisciplinary communication skills
- Experience/knowledge of metal processing/forming and/or vacuum thermoforming desired.
- Previous exposure to a highly regulated industry (e.g. medical, pharmaceutical) and knowledge of relevant standards (e.g. ISO13485, cGMP) desired.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical and/or pneumatic systems desired.
