SHL launches first reusable electromechanical device – the Elexy
SHL Medical, the pioneering leader in self-injection solutions, debuts Elexy™ – a reusable electromechanical drug delivery device solution aimed to support digital therapeutics and a wide range of specialty formulations.
As biotech and pharma partners seek greater flexibility in the choice of drug delivery solutions to navigate the complexities of the drug development process, Elexy responds to this need with its reusable power unit. The power unit seamlessly integrates with disposable drug cassettes that can accommodate both cartridges and pre-filled syringes, supporting a wide range of injection profiles from drug volume, viscosity, and injection speed.
The Elexy device also features connectivity through cellular and Bluetooth® options, supporting the collection of comprehensive data related to drug, container, and device use. Designed with patient-centricity in mind, the Elexy is poised to support the future of digital therapeutics while safeguarding ease of use.
SHL’s Chief Growth Officer Markus Puusepp remarked: “The introduction of Elexy marks a significant milestone for our already expansive device portfolio, further solidifying our leading market position in the drug delivery industry. Following last year’s introduction of the Molly® Connected Cap, it’s quite clear that SHL’s agile response to market demands in innovative self-injection solutions is driving advancements in the market.”
The Elexy will be showcased at the upcoming CPHI Milan, PDA Universe, PODD®, and PDA Aseptic conferences in October. Join us at one of these conferences to learn more about Elexy and SHL’s comprehensive offerings!
