SHL Medical attends 2022 PODD
SHL Medical will be exhibiting at the 2022 Partnership Opportunities in Drug Delivery (PODD®) conference. Held in Boston, USA between October 24-25, PODD provides access to a wide range of drug delivery technologies and SHL is excited to showcase the latest updates from our solutions.
Our booth will feature Molly® and Maggie® autoinjectors. Since launching the Molly white paper last year, SHL has further expanded the Molly modular platform technology to offer more versatility in its industrial design variations to meet different patients’ needs.
Similarly, Maggie also received a major update this year. Initially developed as a cartridge-based autoinjector that accommodates injection volumes up to 3.0 mL, Maggie now comes in a 5.0 mL variation – a notable development that SHL initiated to facilitate larger delivery of subcutaneous injections. Both Maggie 3.0 and 5.0 autoinjectors are built with SHL’s market-proven Needle Isolation Technology (NIT®), a patented solution that enables complete needle covering and shielding before and after injection in cartridge injectors.
Following our presentation last year, where we discussed the NIT mechanism, our Analytical Sciences Manager Lauren Guimond will share the interim results of a bioburden study to corroborate the effectiveness of NIT-integrated autoinjectors in providing safe and efficient cartridge-based drug delivery for patients at the comfort of their own homes.
