SHL Medical honored with AQM awards for excellence in quality and innovation

Honored in the categories of Development and Innovation and Quality Improvement, SHL Medical’s dedication to advancing quality-driven processes, operational efficiency, and innovative practices was recognized. These award-winning initiatives are expected to achieve significant cost savings.
The Development and Innovation Award acknowledges SHL Medical’s successful optimization of its quality control processes. To reduce the complexity of having various testing equipment setups for our comprehensive product portfolio, the company integrates all the variance into an advanced testing equipment. This approach allowed SHL Medical to successfully optimize labor requirements and its operational footprint, achieving process efficiency and exceptional cost savings. The accomplishments reflect SHL Medical’s strategic focus on leveraging innovative solutions to streamline operations.
The Quality Improvement Award commends SHL Medical’s exceptional efforts to minimize rework rates of gate insert manufacturing in tooling. By utilizing the DMAIC framework and statistical methods, the team systematically investigated the issues, such as gate deviation and poor concentricity, and developed an optimal solution to address the problems. As a result, SHL Medical’s team effectively brought the rework rate down to 0%, resulting in substantial improvements and cost savings.
