SHL to attend 2022 NSTC Science Train Program
SHL Medical is excited to announce our first-time participation in the NSTC Science Train Program, a program organized by Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council. The Science Train program features a specially designed train that travels around Taiwan, enabling elementary schoolers from 16 cities to board and follow instructors in conducting science experiments on the train.
The program aims to inspire elementary schoolers’ curiosity towards science as well as raising their awareness of science in their daily lives.
SHL strives to maintain its position as the market leader in the drug delivery industry while fulfilling its stated purpose of “Enabling Patients’ Independence” by offering patient-centric innovations and developing leading technology. It will bring this commitment to the Science Train. The SHL-designated carriage will introduce youth to key physics concepts through experiments and activities focusing on the mechanisms of an autoinjector.
Sebastian Feng, General Manager of SHL Medical Taiwan, commented, “SHL Medical is delighted to attend the Science Train Program this year. We believe human-centered innovations support the enhancement of social wellness, in which patients receive the necessary drug treatment in the comfort of their homes. We hope this opportunity to actively engage with today’s youth will really inspire their interest in science. It is exciting to think that some participants should form part of the next-generation MedTech talent.”
With locations in Taiwan for over 30 years, SHL continuously collaborates with various foundation and institutions in promoting the education and health of the younger generation. Besides the Science Train Program in 2022, SHL has cooperated with universities to provide apprenticeships since 2012.
Participation in the NSTC Science Train Program demonstrates SHL’s dedication to our Environmental Social Governance (ESG) goals in promoting equal access to quality education for all levels. SHL’s sustainability initiatives are supported by three focus areas: Product, People, and Planet. By being responsible for developing sustainable product designs, and promising to fulfil a sustainable society, we reinforce our commitment to preserving a sustainable environment.
