Job Overview
As part of the Global Supply Chain Organization, this role is pivotal in managing a significant global third-party spend and optimizing our End-to-End (E2E) value chain. Responsibilities include strategic sourcing, operational procurement, and material planning for direct materials, indirect services, and capex. This strategic leadership role demands a visionary leader with strong execution capabilities, able to unify global procurement efforts, enhance efficiency, and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Procurement Leadership: Manage global procurement processes to optimize costs and ensure supply chain efficiency across direct materials, indirect services, and capital expenditure.
- Team Leadership & Development: Directly lead a team of 5 procurement professionals and indirectly lead team of 40+ professionals, fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture through mentorship and coaching.
- Supplier Management: Expand and optimize supplier portfolios to drive cost reductions, innovation, and supply security, while maintaining quality standards.Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement international material group strategies aligned with business goals and market trends.
- Spend Optimization: Oversee multi-hundred-million USD in annual spend, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or compliance.
- Collaboration: Partner with manufacturing, R&D, and finance to align procurement with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Contract Negotiations: Lead global supplier negotiations to secure value-based agreements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Drive process innovation and operational efficiencies to enhance procurement performance and service quality.
Minimum requirements:
- 15+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or sourcing roles in highly regulated and technical industries (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, automotive).
- Proven track record in global procurement management, including strategic sourcing, operational procurement, and vendor management.
- Leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to manage large teams and drive performance in a global, cross-functional environment.
- Strong leadership skills: A natural leader with strong social and intercultural competencies. Able to inspire and motivate a diverse team while maintaining high performance and engagement.
- Excellent negotiation skills with experience in managing high-stake supplier negotiations.
- Strong strategic vision with a focus on execution and results.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: A high level of initiative, adaptability, and a hands-on approach to solving complex problems.
- Full Proficiency in English.
Preferred requirements:
- University Degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, Science or related field
- German and/or Mandarin
