SHL Medical, a drug delivery solutions provider for pharma and biotech companies, has achieved another milestone in successfully passing third-party audits and achieving two ISO standard certifications. The acquisition includes the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management Systems certification and the ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems certification at the Taiwan site. Our adherence to internationally recognized standards for workplace safety and environmental management demonstrates SHL’s determination in fulfilling our sustainability goals.

As a medtech company that adheres to the highest quality standards in supporting the patients’ self-injection treatment, SHL prioritizes the health and safety of our employees, while monitoring environmental effects throughout all operational activities.

General Manager of the Taiwan site Sebastian Feng said, “This is a great milestone for our company, because it signifies how our implemented measures in safety, health and environment are now proven by an international qualification standard. This is not simply an endpoint, but rather a milestone in our sustainability journey, because we will continue this commitment and dedication towards our employees, our customers, and the environment.

SHL has the vision to advance the healthcare sector through innovation and technology with a sustainability mindset. We drive sustainability initiatives under the Environmental Social Governance (ESG) framework, which provides guidance for our multiple initiatives, such as reducing our greenhouse gas emissions across all value chain, shifting to renewable electricity sources, innovating product designs, adopting more sustainable materials, and cutting down waste through continuous improvement programs and digitalization projects. We also offer various health programs and conduct CSR activities that benefit our employees and our communities.

Head of Sustainability Dora Rio also commented, “This proud accomplishment indicates SHL’s commitment to our employees, the local community, and the environment through continuous improvement on our workplace and environment principles that align with best practices in the industry. This achievement also recognizes our company’s efforts to set high standards in minimizing occupational health and safety risks, limiting the use of natural resources, and avoiding undesirable environmental impact.
