SHL donates CHF150,000 to support humanitarian aid in Ukraine
Due to the current situation in Ukraine, SHL Medical has committed to donating CHF150,000 to support people affected by the humanitarian crisis.
In order to support the widest possible range of relief efforts, the donation will be distributed among three major charitable organizations. Of the total amount, CHF50,000 will go to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) responding to urgent humanitarian needs (i.e. access to clean water) and providing first aid. A further CHF50,000 will be donated to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to support their effort in safeguarding people forced to flee their homes. Finally, SHL Medical pledges CHF50,000 to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) for medical humanitarian assistance to those affected by the war.
“SHL Medical is deeply saddened by the devastating war in Ukraine and our thoughts are with those affected by the conflict. We wish to help with what they need most: water, food, medicine, safe zones, shelter, and psychosocial support. The relief groups we have chosen for our donation address the immediate basic needs of millions of civilians and provide urgently needed aid in this humanitarian crisis. At the same time, we hope for a quick and peaceful resolution to the conflict”, says CEO Ulrich Faessler.
In addition to the company’s donation, colleagues from across SHL Medical’s global sites have also been contributing to these three organizations.
