SHL expands in Taiwan with 800 new jobs
In January, SHL Group announced plans to create 800 new jobs in Taiwan to support ramped up productions for SHL Medical. SHL Medical is SHL Group’s largest group company offering comprehensive solutions for advanced drug delivery devices to the global pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry.
The ramp-up reflects a growing demand for injectable devices as well as SHL’s commitment to meeting those demands. “For the past 30 years, SHL has always pushed to provide our customers with the best solutions to support their innovative drugs. Our focus on quality has contributed to our growth, which has in turn led to our need to recruit more talents to the SHL family,” said Ulrich Faessler, CEO of SHL Medical.
SHL has since recruited 50% of the additional positions, which it expects to fill by the end of the third quarter. The additional labor force will work among SHL’s TY1, TY2, NK, and Liufu facilities, which are all located within Taoyuan City.
Director of Human Resources Lillian Yao said, “Taiwan is recognized globally for its innovative environment and top-quality labor force. These circumstances, along with substantial support from both the government and the community, have enabled us to become a leader of advanced drug delivery systems.”
SHL Group celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. With this expansion, SHL Group will have more than 4,500 employees in Taiwan and over 5,000 employees globally.
