’Tis the season to be giving
On December 15 and 16, SHL held a donation event for new or second-hand items to be donated to indigenous children of remote areas on the Eastern coast of Taiwan, namely in Taitung and Hualien. Indigenous children in these remote areas have limited resources to supplies needed for school, which includes backpacks, lunch boxes, pencils, coloring pens, etc.
This Christmas, SHL partnered up with South-Link Health Care Promotion Association of Taitung County, which was founded by Dr. Hsu Chao-Pin to provide better resource access for those in need located on the East coast. The foundation began the “Ark Sunshine” program, which mainly assists five elementary schools with educational resources.
During the two-day donation event, gifts and items poured in from SHL employees, all very eager to help out. There were numerous backpacks with cartoon characters on them, shiny new lunch boxes, and an array of new pens and markers. Many staff members pooled in to buy new school supplies for the children.
Following one of our core values – We Care – not only is it important for the company to value its people, but also for the people at the company to value the well-being of others. Regular CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) events reinforce our values and encourage goodwill.
SHL designs, develops, and manufactures advanced drug delivery devices such as autoinjectors and pen injectors, which are meant to improve the quality of life for patients around the world. There are less privileged people all over the world, but for this holiday season, SHL is making Christmas for many of the Indigenous children of Taiwan a little more special.
