Job Overview
Join our Swiss operations team as a Facility Systems Engineer, responsible for the maintenance and improvement of facilities and infrastructure at our Swiss manufacturing site. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Facilities Maintenance, this role oversees critical facilities equipment, drives strategic projects, and ensures smooth operations through reactive, planned, and predictive maintenance.
The role features two key phases:
- Construction and Ramp-Up: Hands-on supervision of facility installations and collaboration with project teams.
- Ongoing Operations: Continuous improvement of site infrastructure, equipment optimization, and data-driven maintenance processes using SAP EAM.
Main Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day facilities maintenance tasks, including inspection and maintenance of HVAC, compressed air systems, chillers, boilers, BMS, and EMS per schedules.
- Oversee the planning, construction, and maintenance of facilities equipment and spaces during the project phase.
- Develop and improve maintenance plans for all facilities equipment using the CMMS (EAM) system based on manufacturer recommendations.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts by determining requirements and coordinating on-site or manufacturer storage.
- Manage projects and collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure successful execution of facility improvements.
- Monitor and assess facility equipment performance, implementing predictive maintenance and corrective actions to minimize downtime and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with local zoning laws, health and safety regulations, and company protocols while promoting a safe work environment.
- Drive initiatives to enhance safety, productivity, cost efficiency, and quality through proactive projects and continuous improvement efforts.
Skills and Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in a maintenance-related field.
- Over 5 years of experience in facilities management and maintenance.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance programs for facility equipment.
- Hands-on mentality, capable of executing and supporting tasks during project and ramp-up phases to ensure success.
- 3-5 years of experience with CMMS, preferably SAP Enterprise Asset Management or an equivalent system.
- Experience in ISO13485, FDA, or other highly regulated environments.
- Proficiency in English and German.
Desired:
- Training or experience in Lean 6S, Six Sigma, cost reduction, OEE improvements, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple facility-related projects.
- Strategic mindset focused on innovation, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
- Working knowledge of BMS and EMS systems.
