Job Overview


The local HRBP works in close collaboration with the Regional HRBP, Global HRBP, COEs and local HR team in servicing the assigned business areas on a local level (Charleston or Deerfield Beach). The job holder is the main contact person for the employees and line managers of the assigned departments throughout the entire employee life cycle..

 

Main Responsibilities


•    Advise and support local managers and employees in all aspects of people management in the local organization
•    Manage HR administration tasks, working in close collaboration with the HR Generalists
•    Assist/drive the implementation of the overall HR strategy and provide expert professional advice
•    Manage the local organization in annual HR processes (e.g. Budgeting, Performance Management, Annual Compensation Review, Talent and Succession Review etc.)
•    Manage and implement local HR projects and assist in HR related ad-hoc projects
•    Ownership optimization of internal HR processes
•    Ensure the correct handling of local workplace policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with employment legislation and regulations
•    Contribute to the bi-weekly payroll processing in collaboration with the local HR Team including Sr. Payroll Specialist. May include auditing payroll process to ensure compliance. 
•    Collaborate closely with the recruitment team and conduct interviews
•    Conduct exit interviews to ensure new team members are engaged and to provide learning/improvement to process
•    Collaborate with other departments to ensure that HR processes are aligned with business objectives
•    Cooperation in implementation and development of HR digitization, HR policies, regulations, and processes
•    Oversee leave of absence (i.e., FMLA) and workers’ compensation processes for assigned location/employees.
•    Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations.
•    Work closely with SHL Legal department on employment law matters to mitigate legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance; proactively research and review employment laws, regulations, and policies and recommend courses of action.

 

Skills and Qualification

•    Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required. 
•    A minimum of five (5-7) years of HRBP or senior HR Generalist experience required.
•    Strategic mindset paired with high sense for execution and teamwork. Ability to build trust and drive engagement in a diverse and fast-growing environment.
•    Must be able to interface at all levels of the organization with good organizational and interpersonal skills.
•    Strong internal and external customer service focus
•    Excellent verbal and written communication skills (i.e., Facilitation, persuasion, and listening skills) and have demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of the team.
•    Bias for action, strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence.
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and decision-making abilities.
•    Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
•    Thorough knowledge of employment related laws and regulations.
•    Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
•    Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and ATS systems. (UKG, PeopleSoft, SuccessFactors experience a plus)
•    Masters degree preferred
•    Professional Certification in HR preferred
•    Experience supporting manufacturing preferred
•    Experience in medical device industry preferred
