【Job Overview】

This role is embedded in the Automation Technology Group within our Operations Engineering Department in Taiwan, which focuses on supporting mass production.The Operations Engineering (OE) Team consists of more than 40 global members who work collaboratively to drive innovation in automation, metal packaging, and plastic injection molding.

 

【Responsibilities】

  • Lead and support troubleshooting and issue resolution of critical production equipment to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Provide mechanical leadership and support for the rest of the department
  • Improve system and equipment reliability for the core processes to meet all customer, business, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development of equipment improvement plans, including proposing new designs and retrofits, getting stakeholder buy-in, working with relevant vendors, and managing implementation & testing.
  • Lead and support commissioning and acceptance testing of new production equipment.
  • Manage technology transfer (receiver function) of new equipment into mass production.
  • Support validation activities for new equipment and processes as necessary
  • Lead and support the identification of novel production equipment for next-gen manufacturing systems.
  • Promote the use of new technologies and industry-leading trends. Provide the highest level of technical expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with production teams, machine builders, process/product development groups, and the quality department on performance/process improvements, troubleshooting, and critical event response.

 

【Qualification】

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent education/experience in a relevant field
  • Experience in automated manufacturing, product/process development or equipment design
  • Hands-on experience working with automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment
  • Expertise with CAD software (2D & 3D); experience designing custom parts for production equipment.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, & pneumatic systems
  • Knowledge of common problem-solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies;
  • Previous exposure to a highly regulated industry (e.g. medical, pharmaceutical) is a plus
  • Passionate & committed self-starter with “can do” attitude, team player and taking responsibility to get the job done
  • Ability to work independent with strong attention to detail and focus on efficiency, effectiveness and cost
  • Intercultural and interdisciplinary communication skills; able to communicate effectively in English (verbal, written)
  • Ability communicate in Mandarin is a plus
