Job Overview

This internship with Assembly Automation Process Development Department is designed to provide hands-on experience with innovative manufacturing technologies, with the potential for full-time employment upon successful completion. You will work on meaningful projects to design, optimize, and implement advanced automation systems, contributing to the development of scalable and efficient assembly processes.

 

Main Responsibilities

  1. Data Handling System:
    • Integrate new-generation equipment into the existing system.
    • Enhance the architecture, refactor the codebase, and ensure comprehensive documentation.
    • Evaluate and potentially migrate the system to a new front-end/back-end framework.
  2. Sequence Editor:
    • Expand the capabilities of the automated assembly sequence editor to support new-generation equipment.
    • Refactor the codebase to enhance scalability and maintainability.
    • Explore and evaluate the feasibility of migrating to updated frameworks or technologies.
  3. DFA Wizard:
    • Transition the Design for Assembly (DFA) evaluation tool from Excel (VBA) to a modern web-based application.
  4. Automated Process Analyzer/Optimizer:
    • Implement timestamps in PLC and robot code to automate time measurement for assembly steps.
    • Develop a web application for generating and analyzing Gantt charts to optimize processes.
    • Create algorithms for automated analysis of Gantt charts to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.

 

Qualifications

  1. Educational Background:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a master’s degree in Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  1. Technical Skills:
  • Programming: Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar
  • Data Handling: Experience with databases, CSV file processing, and data visualization.
  • Web Development: Familiarity with front-end/back-end frameworks. Vue.js, Node.js (Express), or similar frameworks.
  • Industrial Automation: Knowledge of 6-axis Robots (Fanuc TP-Code), Beckhoff PLC (TwinCAT), and structured text (nice to have).
  • Algorithm Development: Ability to design algorithms for data analysis and optimization.
  1. Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for collaboration across disciplines.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn new tools and technologies.
  1. Desirable Experience:
  • Previous involvement in automation systems, process development, or industrial software development is a plus.
