Job Overview

Innovative ideas are at the heart of everything at SHL Medical. As a summer intern you bring new thinking and come up with creative solutions. You will contribute with support to perform test related tasks during the product development process on design and development of new devices, platform extension products, or product care activities. All to ensure the product performance satisfies the user needs and product requirements.

Our site in Sweden, Nacka Strand, is one of our design centers, with around 90 employees working in different functions and departments. You will belong to the Testing Department, which consist of 8 people, working closely with the global Department of Advanced Materials, Testing & Simulation organization to setup center of excellences. The organization is fast growing and we need your support in this journey.

Main Responsibilities

• Take part in and learn from mechanical hardware testing and support with various testing related work tasks to ensure robust medical device designs.
• Collaborate with testing team and support with laboratory maintenance.
• Extract data from test reports.
• Perform literature studies within the medical device field.
• Possibility to participate and be part of a global project team building up a Center of Competence.
• Contribute with process improvement suggestions.

Minimum Requirements

• Student at an Engineering program in Mechanical-, Material-, Biomedical Engineering or similar.
• Open-minded, proactive, results- and execution-oriented.
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills in English.
• Team player and self-starter, able to perform with minimal supervision.
• Effective interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate with colleagues throughout the global organization. 

Preferred Requirements

• PMP Certification preferred
• Engineering degree or similar
• Experience with digital Project Management tools like MS Project, PLM 
• Relatively high seniority to ensure collaboration with Managing Director and other senior staff on eye level
• Other languages are considered an advantage, preferably German
