April 12 2024
SHL Medical, the pioneering leader in self-injection solutions for patients living with chronic diseases, announced its donation of US$200,000 to support victims of the recent earthquake in Taiwan. The earthquake, registering at 7.4 on the Richter scale (7.2 according to local news), struck the island’s eastern coast on April 3 at 7:58 AM local time, triggering massive landslides and leaving people in urgent need of assistance.
SHL Medical’s donation will be directed to World Vision Taiwan, a global humanitarian organization dedicated to helping children, families, and communities overcome poverty and challenging circumstances during times of crisis. World Vision Taiwan is collaborating with the Taiwan government and NGO partners to provide on-site injury assessments, emergency shelters, property damage investigations, and more. SHL Medical’s donation will aid in the reconstruction of homes, provision of essential household appliances, as well as emergency welfare assistance.
“Our thoughts go out to those affected by the earthquake during this challenging time,” expressed Sebastian Feng, General Manager at SHL Medical’s Taiwan site. “As a global company and member of the local community, we are committed to supporting our neighbors in their recovery efforts and providing assistance wherever possible.”
SHL Medical’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and community support is further reinforced through this contribution. “At SHL Medical, we believe in leveraging our resources to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by adversity,” said Ulrich Faessler, CEO at SHL Medical. “By partnering with World Vision Taiwan, we are confident that our contribution will help address the immediate and long-term needs of the victims, providing them with the necessary support and assistance they require to rebuild their lives.”
Despite the earthquake, SHL Medical’s business operations remain unaffected. The company released a press release on April 3 confirming the continued stability of its operations and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions without interruption.
SHL Medical remains committed to supporting communities in times of crisis and will continue to monitor the situation in Taiwan closely.
