Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced IT/OT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in North Charleston, SC. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background in both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure design and implementation. As an IT/OT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, managing and maintaining our company’s IT/OT infrastructure, including networking equipment, servers, and interfaces for the operational data exchange within and between IT and OT.
All areas require skill and knowledge of troubleshooting, system maintenance and implementation, best practices, customer-focused communication, and a support attitude. You will report to the Head of Infrastructure Europe/Americas and work closely with the IT teams in Switzerland, Taiwan, Sweden and the USA.
Main Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage the IT/OT infrastructure to support the organization’s operations, ensuring the systems and services are reliable, secure, and scalable
- Support the design and implementation of connectivity, integration, and data exchange management for OT used in manufacturing and facilities
- Perform regular maintenance and updates to keep the systems current and in compliance with security and regulatory standards
- Monitor the performance of the IT/OT infrastructure, identifying and addressing any areas of concern
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the IT/OT infrastructure, collaborating with other teams as needed to identify and resolve problems
- Provide technical support and assistance to other teams as needed
- Develop and maintain documentation of the IT/OT infrastructure and processes, ensuring that it is accurate and up-to-date
- Research new technologies and trends in IT/OT, recommending new tools and approaches to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the infrastructure
- Participate in the planning and implementation of new IT/OT projects, working with other teams to ensure that the infrastructure can support new initiatives
- Provide guidance and support to junior members of the team
- Cooperate closely with the Information Security organization to enhance and improve security setups for network and server infrastructures
- Support the development and execution of disaster recovery plans
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
- 6+ years of experience in IT/OT infrastructure design, implementation, and management requiered
- Strong knowledge of IT/OT infrastructure, including network infrastructure, servers, virtualization, storage, and security, especially with the following technologies
- Cisco networking
- Fortigate firewalls
- Microsoft Active Directory domain services
- Microsoft Windows Servers
- VMware server virtualization
- Familiar with PowerShell scripts in automating operational processes
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with other teams and stakeholders
- Deep understanding of IT/OT integration and interaction, with the ability to manage and maintain complex systems
- Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations, including cybersecurity and data protection requirements
- Experience with project management and the ability to lead and participate in cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to document and maintain accurate records of IT/OT infrastructure and processes
- Familiarity with industrial control systems (ICS) and associated protocols (Modbus, DNP3, OPC UA, etc.) is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to document IT/OT processes and provide knowledge transfer to team members and end-users
- Demonstrated customer interaction skills and teamwork competencies
- Experience designing disaster recovery and contingency planning is a plus
- Experience in Change Process Management is a plus
- Experience in CSV (Computer System Validation) process is a plus
- A high level of autonomy in combination with solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively
