Job Overview
 

This is a newly created role for the North Charleston Supply Chain organization with responsibility for all aspects of material flow from SHL suppliers up until all customer in North America. The selected candidate will be a key member of the Supply Chain team reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Manager.
The logistics manager will be responsible for establishing this new local role within the North Charleston Supply Chain organization. This role is an individual contributor role with potential to grow into team leadership and extended responsibilities within the Supply Chain organization.
The role is instrumental in developing and establishing logistics as an enabler for effective and efficient material flows. This includes the management of external logistics provider, monitoring the inventory management, enable inventory control and ensure continuous and uninterrupted material flows to enable a continuous and uninterrupted manufacturing and delivery process to customers.

The selected candidate will have the strategic rigor to think beyond today’s problems, influence and support the global logistics strategy while providing excellent service to the local organization to meet cost, service, inventory and cycle time targets. The Logistics Manager will establish and hold a good relationship with external logistics provider, manages the day to day for logistics operations and hold all logistics providers accountable for their agreed service level. 
 

The role is key to the supply chain organization as it ensures that material flows are effectively execute and meeting cost and service targets - externally and internally.

Main Responsibilities

•    Managing all external logistics providers related to the North Charleston Manufacturing Site
•    Build and maintain internal and external relationship with stakeholders 
•    Strategic perspective on logistics in a North America context and manage day to day logistics operations
•    Cost and service oriented to meet budget expectation while delivering a world class service to SHL customers
•    Develop and establish local logistics processes and enable system thinking to align with SAP
•    Participate in global logistics community to support the development of a global logistics footprint
•    Plan, coordinate, and monitor the movement of goods and documentation for all inbound and Outbound shipments
•    Manage integrity of physical inventory and system inventory in EWM/SAP
•    Arrange and manage transportation for customer shipments
•    Active member of the global logistics community to define requirements and specifications for warehousing and transportation
•    Participate in tender processes and selection of warehousing and transportation services

Skills and Qualification

•    Bachelor degree in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management required.
•    Logistics provider or logistics function experience
•    5+ years logistics and supply chain experience in a regulated product environment
•    Knowledgeable with SAP S4/Hana and other ERP and Warehouse Management Systems
•    Strong inventory management and inventory control skills
•    Service mindset with cost consciousness
•    Understanding of automate intra logistics flows
•    Creative thinking skills
•    Excellent problem-solving skills
•    Good time management skills
•    Experience working with electronic data
